Our Story: About Us

Teresa Missions Center

Teresa missions is an independent not-for-profit center that is focused on helping, supporting and defending the vulnerable and at-risk children in our communities.

This mission center is legally recognized as Lifeway Children by the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Services under Regulation 3(1) of the Children Regulation, 2005, duly registered and given certificates by the local authorities.

In 2011, Pastor Timothy Motari registered Lifeway Children which back then focused on visiting orphans in various places within Kenya. Timothy and his friends could go to places like children homes and orphanages to do volunteering work such as cleaning their compounds, washing the orphans' clothes, cooking food for them, giving aid support, teaching them about hygiene and health practices, creating awareness campaigns and teaching them about Jesus Christ.

In 2018, Teresa Missions was born out of Lady Teresa's desire to do much more than visiting orphanages. This desire became more clear and pressing when she saw so many needy kids attending the Bible fellowship services that pastor Timothy, her husband, organized weekly especially total orphans who usually begged for her help time and again. She shared her vision with pastor Timothy and this vision was based on the horrific, oppressive and abusive experiences that Teresa had personally encountered in her childhood. As a young orphaned girl, she was subjected to child abuse, being overworked by her own relatives and was rarely given the time to pursue her education dream. She did not wish other vulnerable kids to go through the same societal injustices as the ones she went through. They faithfully prayed about it and God established their steps to form Teresa Missions. A mission center that desires to share God's love through acts of mercy countrywide with more emphasis placed on the vulnerable at-risk girls such as FGM victims, early marriage victims, high illiteracy levels among children especially the girl child, AIDS pandemic victims and total orphans. The ministry's vision was also extended to supporting the poor elderly and widows. Through Teresa Missions, many unwanted and needy children have encountered positive spiritual and physical changes in their lives. We give thanks and praise to the Lord for all He is doing for, to and through us as a ministry.
